And my family elsewhere in the south appears to be okay too. I’ve got an older relative in Huntsville, AL, but remembered that the sister of a dear friend lives there, and she’ll check on him in person tomorrow.
I will admit that I’m tired of hunkering down, backtracking around flooded roads, and revising the hail damage report for my insurance company, but what we’ve had here is nothing compared to Alabama. I hope that all of my blogging friends are weathering the storms safely too.
I’m glad to hear that you are doing okay. I hope that your elderly relative is, too. I’ve been listening to the news of the storms and thinking how stressful it must be to deal with such unrelenting and violent weather. My thoughts are with you!
Thank you so much! I hope that you stay safe back east.
Keeping you and all those in harm’s way in my prayers and positive thoughts.
Meg
Thank you so much, Meg! I appreciate both positive thoughts and prayers.
Glad you are alright. Have many online friends who are getting hit with these storms. Stay safe, stay dry, stay down is about the best I can manage.
I’ve gotten good at hunkering down and being patient. Given what we’re seeing in Alabama, I feel very lucky now.
I think of you so often. I’m so relieved to hear that you’re okay and getting through this crazy and scary spring you’re having down there.
Eleanor
I hope the bad weather is ending soon. I know of other friends up north who’ve had really late snow. Are you okay?
The last of the snow melted here about a week ago, and things are beginning to dry/green up. Spring is a welcome sight after a really hard winter! Please keep us posted when you can. Even a quick update lets us know you’re okay.
I’m going to head to north Alabama tomorrow to take care of Dad. After all, I cook all the time without electricity! I’m hoping that the neighbors will appreciate some Dutch oven chicken and some propane stove eggs.
So glad you are OK! What a horrible set of storms. We had tornadoes touch down here in central NC on April 16th and are under tornado watches until 11 am today. I can’t believe I drove across a looooong bridge across a lake during the storm that did this:

Hope you all stay safe!
Oh, my, Linda, how scary! You’ll be close to my heart today as the rest of the storm passes through.
So glad to hear that you are safe and well. I’ve been thinking about you and wondering.
Thank you, Tammy. I feel really fortunate today. By the way, I never got to post about it, but I was in Phoenix a week and a half ago and thought about you then!
Hello! We had a rough 2 days of tornados and stoms here. One touched down just 5 miles north of our home. There were 9 deaths in Mississippi due to this weather. What happend to long, slow rains you could sit on the porch and watch? We are tired of stressing over the weather!
Rita, I miss those storms too. I hope it’ll be over soon.
Glad to hear you all are doing ok! My brother and his family live near Dover, and they’re fine…but my best friend’s town of Vilonia was descimated. Her family is safe and sound, but they have a lot of work to do. It’s a mess here near St. Louis too. My heart goes out to all who are enduring this horrible weather.
I have friends in the Dover area too. One friend has a home across a footbridge over a creek, and he’s had to watch as the floods have threatened the bridge repeatedly. I love crossing that bridge every December for their holiday party but have often wondered what it looks like in flood. Now I know, from pictures. Yikes!
So glad you are okay! We had tornado’s hit our area of NC and are finally getting cleaned up.
I’m so glad to hear that you’re okay. I’ve only just begun to check up on blog friends.
On a happy note, my father was in high spirits this weekend and had power back today!
By the way, I’m not sure how I missed getting you on my blogroll, but you’re there now.
I came across your blog, I think on one of the weather alert stations. Very nice. Was curious what part of Arkansas you’re in. I’m in Oxford. Stay safe out there today – it’s a rare tornado season. Back to reading your wonderful blog.
Thank you for the kind words, Danielle. Hmmm–on a weather alert station? I’ll have to look for that. We’re on the southeastern edge of the Ozarks. You live in a beautiful part of Arkansas, and your goats look adorable!
